Gap filling with clues
বক্সে দেওয়া শব্দ দিয়ে অনুচ্ছেদের শূন্যস্থান পূরণ। দরকার হলে শব্দের রূপ বদলাতে হয়, একই শব্দ একাধিকবারও লাগতে পারে। আগে পুরো অনুচ্ছেদ পড়ে বিষয়টা বুঝে নাও।

Gap filling without clues
কোনো শব্দ দেওয়া থাকে না — article, preposition বা প্রসঙ্গ অনুযায়ী উপযুক্ত শব্দ নিজে বসাতে হয়।

Substitution table
তিন কলামের অংশ মিলিয়ে পাঁচটি অর্থপূর্ণ বাক্য বানাতে হয়। subject-verb agreement আর অর্থ — দুটোই মিলতে হবে।

Right form of verbs
বন্ধনীর verb-এর সঠিক রূপ (tense, voice, subject-verb agreement) বসাতে হয়। আগে পুরো অনুচ্ছেদের tense বুঝে নাও।
He (go) to school yesterday. If I were a bird, I (fly) in the sky.
Answer: went; would fly
Narration
Direct speech-কে indirect (বা উল্টো) করতে হয়। প্রশ্ন, আদেশ, অনুরোধ ও আবেগসূচক বাক্যের reporting verb আলাদা।
He said to me, "Where do you live?"
Answer: He asked me where I lived.
Changing sentences
নির্দেশ অনুযায়ী বাক্যের রূপ বদলানো — simple/complex/compound, affirmative/negative, interrogative, degree, voice ইত্যাদি। অর্থ যেন না বদলায়।
Only Rana can solve the problem. (Make negative)
Answer: None but Rana can solve the problem.
Completing sentences
বাক্যের বাকি অংশ লিখে অর্থপূর্ণ করতে হয়। "It is high time", "lest", "as if", "no sooner had" — এগুলোর নির্দিষ্ট গঠন মনে রাখো।
It is high time ___.
Answer: It is high time we changed our bad habits.
Suffixes and prefixes
বন্ধনীর শব্দে suffix/prefix যোগ করে প্রসঙ্গ অনুযায়ী noun, adjective, adverb বা negative রূপ বানাতে হয়।
(Honest) is the best policy. Many people are (literate).
Answer: Honesty; illiterate
Tag questions
বাক্যের শেষে ছোট প্রশ্ন জুড়তে হয় — affirmative বাক্যে negative tag, negative বাক্যে affirmative tag। never, hardly, nobody-ও negative ধরা হয়।
Nobody came to the party, ___?
Answer: did they?
Connectors
বাক্য বা অংশ জোড়ার উপযুক্ত শব্দ: however, moreover, therefore, although, because, otherwise ইত্যাদি।
He is poor. ___, he is honest.
Answer: However
Punctuation and capitalization
যতিচিহ্ন ও বড় হাতের অক্ষর ছাড়া লেখা অনুচ্ছেদ ঠিক করে লিখতে হয় — উদ্ধৃতি চিহ্ন, প্রশ্নবোধক চিহ্ন, apostrophe, নাম ও বাক্যের শুরুর অক্ষর।

Paragraph, letter ও composition
Part B-তে CV/email, চিঠি বা দরখাস্ত, paragraph (প্রায় ২৫০ শব্দ) ও composition লিখতে হয়। ফরম্যাট, প্রাসঙ্গিক তথ্য আর নির্ভুল বাক্য — তিনটিতেই নম্বর।

SSC English 2nd Paper-এ ভালো নম্বরের টিপস
- সময় ভাগ করো। Grammar (৬০ নম্বর) প্রায় ৮০–৯০ মিনিটে শেষ করো, বাকি সময় Part B-র লেখায় দাও। শেষে ১০ মিনিট রিভিশনের জন্য রাখো।
- আগে পুরো অনুচ্ছেদ পড়ো। Gap filling, right form of verbs ও connectors-এ প্রসঙ্গ না বুঝে শূন্যস্থান পূরণ করলে ভুল বেশি হয়।
- নিয়মগুলো খাতায় লেখো। Narration, transformation আর tag question-এর নিয়ম ছোট নোটে রাখো; মডেল টেস্টে যা ভুল হয় তা পাশে লিখে রাখো।
- লেখার ফরম্যাট মেনে চলো। CV, চিঠি, দরখাস্ত ও email-এর ফরম্যাট (তারিখ, ঠিকানা, subject, সম্বোধন, শেষ) ঠিক থাকলেই অনেক নম্বর নিশ্চিত।
- ছোট ও নির্ভুল বাক্য লেখো। Paragraph ও composition-এ লম্বা জটিল বাক্যের চেয়ে নির্ভুল সহজ বাক্যে বেশি নম্বর আসে। বানান আর capital letter খেয়াল রাখো।
- পুরো মডেল টেস্ট সময় ধরে দাও। সপ্তাহে ২-৩টি টেস্ট দিলে কোন অংশে সময় বেশি লাগে বোঝা যায়। প্রতিদিনের অনুশীলনের জন্য দৈনিক MCQ পরীক্ষা-ও দিতে পারো।
