14. Write a Paragraph on Our National Flag10

Write a paragraph on Our National Flag in about 250 words.

উত্তর দেখো
Sample Paragraph:
A national flag is the symbol of independence and sovereignty of a nation. Every free nation has a national flag of its own. Bangladesh has also a national flag of her own. It is the pride and glory of our nation. Our national flag is rectangular in shape. The ratio of its length and breadth is 10:6. The background of the flag is dark green. There is a red circle in the middle of it. The red circle signifies the rising sun of independence. It also reminds us of the blood of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War of 1971. The green colour represents the green nature and youth of our country. The national flag is hoisted every day on the top of important government offices, educational institutions and courts. On national days, it is hoisted on both public and private buildings. On national mourning days, the flag is kept at half-mast. The flag is also kept at half-mast when any prominent leader dies. The national flag of Bangladesh is very dear to us. It reminds us of our hard-earned freedom. We should respect our national flag and uphold its dignity at any cost. We are ready to sacrifice our lives for our flag.

15. Write a composition on The Uses and Abuses of Television12

Write a composition on The uses and abuses of television.

উত্তর দেখো
Sample Composition:
Television is one of the most wonderful inventions of modern science. It is a device that transmits both sound and picture. It was invented by John Logie Baird. Nowadays, television has become an essential part of our daily life. It has both uses and abuses.

Television has many uses. It is a great source of entertainment. We can watch movies, dramas, music programmes and many other interesting shows on TV. It also gives us news of home and abroad. Educational programmes broadcast on TV help students learn many things. Science programmes make us aware of the latest inventions and discoveries. We can enjoy live sports like cricket, football and other games on TV. It also helps us learn about different cultures and lifestyles of people around the world. Documentary programmes on nature, animals and history are very informative.

However, television has some abuses too. Sometimes people, especially students, become addicted to watching TV. As a result, they neglect their studies. Watching TV for a long time harms our eyesight. Some programmes contain violence and immorality which have a negative impact on young minds. Children are easily influenced by the violent scenes shown on TV. Sometimes false advertisements mislead people. Besides, sitting in front of the TV for hours makes people lazy. It reduces physical activity and social interaction.

In conclusion, we can say that television is a great blessing of science if it is used properly. But we should be selective in watching TV programmes. Parents should monitor what their children watch. Students should not watch TV for a long time. We should utilise television for education and entertainment, not for wasting our time. Only then will television be a true friend of human life.
