📘 Articles (a, an, the) — নিয়মগুলো দেখে নাও
- a/an বসে একবচন গণনাযোগ্য (countable) বিশেষ্যের আগে, যখন সেটি নির্দিষ্ট নয়: a pen, an egg।
- a না an — দেখো পরের শব্দের প্রথম উচ্চারণ (sound), বানান নয়: an hour, an honest man, an MP, কিন্তু a university, a European, a one-taka note।
- the বসে নির্দিষ্ট বা আগে বলা কিছুর আগে, আর যা একটাই আছে তার আগে: the sun, the moon, the sky।
- নদী, সাগর, পর্বতমালা, ধর্মগ্রন্থ, পত্রিকা, জাহাজ, বাদ্যযন্ত্র আর superlative ও ordinal-এর আগে the: the Padma, the Himalayas, the best, the first।
- the + adjective = একটি শ্রেণির মানুষ: the rich (ধনীরা), the poor (গরিবরা)।
- কোনো article বসে না: খাবার (breakfast), খেলা (cricket), ভাষা (English), বেশিরভাগ দেশ-শহরের নাম (Dhaka), আর সাধারণ অর্থে অগণনীয় বিশেষ্য (Milk is good)।
- school, bed, hospital, church — নিজের আসল উদ্দেশ্যে গেলে the বসে না (go to school পড়তে); অন্য কাজে গেলে বসে (went to the school to meet the headmaster)।
